Intervideo Msipvs Software Free Download
MSI have provided me with a newer test version of MSIPVS.I believe it will work with both the TV@nywhere Master and the Vox USB.However I no longer have the hardware to test this software myself. So that's where you brave guys (and gals) come in.You can download the software here:The latest version can be found in the MSIPVS 3 folder, unfortunately the files in the folder aren't ZIPped, so you would be best using an FTP client (such as WSFTP or CuteFTP) to download the filesPCI= TV@nywhere MASTERUSB = VoxCombo = TV5200 & TV5700 VGA Card with TV Tuneran earlier version is found in the ZIP fileyou are advised to completely uninstall the original software and restart your PC before attempting to install this.
You will also need at least DirectX 8.1 installed on your PC for it to work.please use this thread for posting feedback only, ie what seems to have been fixed etc. Don't start asking for help, and please don't PM me asking for help, i can't even use this software, so i don't know whats different. I'll try and pass on your feedback to MSI at a later date. Please start a new thread if you need any help.as it is also an unreleased test version, no support is offered by MSI, and you use the software at your own risk.thanks guysEDIT: this is a newer version of MSIRadio, which you could also try too. Hi guys,i was brave enough to try this update. It is basically Intervideo WinDVR 3 renamed to MSI PVS.Its about time that MSI brought this update out. The Picture quality is a bit clearer now and you also get all the functions of WinDVR 3.The problems i've found is:1.
When you try to start MSI radio by pressing the TV/FM button, the whole program crashes. The only cure for this is to kill the process in Task Manager to get your desktop back.Other than that.
Remote control works fine so does everything else.I suggest that MSI fix the MSI Radio Issue. And should you be able to use the RC for MSI Radio as well??? Hey there Glenn n Stu, great to see you two are still here.I haven't been back for a while, as I've been busy:(.But it's cool that MSI are working on their version of WinDVR.As for the latest MSIPVR being just another version of WinDVR 3, yes it is.
However, WinDVR3 does not seem to have the streaming option, which MSIPVR seems to have. Or is there an add on for it?:S.In either case, I just tried it out with my TV@nywhere (yes, it's the original one:(.) and I seem to have issues with it:(.The first thing I get in the setup box is that it's an NTSC-M card, so I changed this to PAL-B and the picture stops being green and grey, i.e. Blue picture.I then set everything else like it should be but when I get to the channel scanning section, I can't scan the channels. When I click on auto scan, it just roams through everything quickly with no results. When I tried the WinDVR 3 trial version, when I tried to scan the channels, it looked as if it was scanning for the channels, however, it never came up with ANY results, so I ended up with 100+ blue channels:p.What MSIPVR seems to have, that WinDVR didn't, is also the ability to type in one's own channel frequency keys. I tried doing that too, but MSIPVR didn't seem to respond to any of them. And even after having input e.g. 3 to test it, after restarting MSIPVR, the channels aren't there anymore:S.
It's as if they didn't save. Then when I tried to press channel up and down, it'd take me to the channel scan window instead of actually going up and down.I'm not sure if this is a bug or if it's because the latest MSIPVR cannot coexist with my existing one. That is to say, I still have MSIPVR 2 installed and that still works. I also tried loading the WinDVR.chan list into it with no luck what so ever. But with the WinDVR.chan, I could at least 'change channels' although they were all blue. The sound wasn't there either. And yeah, I also tried scanning with freescan ticked, as usual.
Rather strange I must say. This new piece of software SHOULD be backwards compatible right, i.e. Work with the older TV@nywhere.In either case, I guess the above answer to this question will be the answer to the result hehe.I guess that's my feedback for now:).But again, it's really awesome that you're all still working on the software and so forth for this piece of hardware.I really hope that one of these days, we can get a really nice working driver or alternative to this and be able to capture in the excellent quality that this card seems to be capable of. Uninstalled 2, rebooted, installed 3, rebooted.
TV@nywhere Master running under Win2k sp4. DirectX 9.0c I think.Autoscan did a good job on my USA cable TV, detecting only a single channel that wasn't there. All channels tuned clearly and the channel number on the overlay pops up almost instantly.
With 2 and rapid channel surfing the overlay took so long to pop up that it seemed to be a channel behind.Recording: Tried Good, Better, and Best in both record and timeshift modes. Noticed some stuttering during timeshift. Noticed some tearing in the video but not the horizontal bands I'd seen in 2.
Audio synch seemed okay, though I was only using 30 second test clips. All test clips played in WinAmp5 and Windows Media Player (whatever version is standard with Win2k). I mention this because v2 sometimes produced files that WinAmp couldn't play. Built-in program player crashed a couple of times when I tried to open the list of programs.
Other times played fine. Windows volume controls for Wave and Line-In reset properly after stopping timeshift. Wav would stay muted with 2.I could use the single date and time boxes to set record times for one-time, daily, or weekly events, so I assume that's how it's supposed to work. I don't know if timed recording worked because every time I tried to exit the program to wait for the time to arrive, the program would hang and I would have to kill it with the task manager.Never used the EPG so didn't try it this time. I like the new Zoom and Pan. Closed Caption was greyed out. Other than that, I think everything else worked pretty much as expected.
It looks like a marginal improvement, but an improvement nonetheless and I would upgrade to this version permanently if the crash on exit and crash on program list problems were fixed. The new version of msipvs is working well so far,- Good picture- good gui- greate stereo sound!- free scan works perfect-.Recording w/Sound work excellent!Problems Ive encountered:-.sheduled recording will not work, regardless if i leave msipvs running or not.(cinema manager is always running in background)- msipvs ALWAYS starts on channel 1. There is no channel 1 where I live, only statica settable option would be nice here. Like Default Start Channel: X or always start to last channel, like a regular tv.- at msipvs startup (only once I encountered this) the #1 was being sent over and over again endlessly, this continued until I stopped and restarted cinema manager. Wierd.- no sound when recording.

I re-adjusted all my volume levels, both in windows, and in msipvs and tried again, and it worked. Perhaps a volume record monitor in the gui could help.- while time shifting, volume level increases dramatically, and the volume control slider no longer functions- also. The new version doesnt have the 'right click on picture and click surfing' anymore. Surfing is wayharder to access now.Suggestions:See above, and- Skins.
Im sure we would love to be able to skin our msipvs'sIf I find anything else Ill post again.Thankyou!!-cope. Feedback:It seems to work much better now!But I found another issue; The minimum size of picture window has grown.I had the previous version installed, and put a small picture in a corner of my screen, while working with other stuff. ( Ideal while listening to a broadcast ( ex; sport)and still visible ready to doubleclick if there was.a score or similar. Also the small size could be like 60x40 or similar. ( do not remember the exact size )It was big enough to follow, but now it falls behind another window while working.Regards, Asbjorn. 1-Channel change by itself from example: 30 to 111 or 11 etc. It happen: at software startup, when recording start, when switching from S-video to cable TV, etc.
Please fix this.2-Having the choice to select: as a wallpaper background in full screen mode.3-Volume level control (ok its fine now never mind this point) Only Line-in should go to mute and/or slider volume to minimum.Power up: Only Line-in should be unmute and/or slider volume should come back to previous level.4-'Daily' and 'one time only' are missing the date and time fields. However the date and time fields for the 'weekly' selection does change the date and time for the 'daily' and 'one time only' selection too.5-tele text is grayed out6-EPG is grayed out ( would be nice)7-Program panel have button that crash the soft.8-Remote is working fine, however the power on/off and channel up/down on the USB2 VOX is not working + red LED is always on.I still need to test recoding more and other stuff, but so far not too bad.More to come. I've played with this beta on and off since it's release. The main outstanding problem I've encountered is the program scheduling funtion. If not for this, I'd use it instead of the prehistoric msipvs v2. The included changlelog is rather hazy on whether this problem was acknoleged as left outstanding, or was dealt with (a build number was incremented twice after the note of problem). This could be cleared up rather easily; has.anyonereading this. gotten the scheduer to record a program?
Ahead of time, without user intervention). Stu: Is there a release timeline for the next build? Shall mid-east peace be resolved before the drivers are updated also? Boberty, the answer is 'i don't know'. But MSI have at least acknowledged that work is still on-going on updating software and drivers for their TV tuner hardware, the more good feedback i receive here, the better it will look when i present this forum thread to MSIi have already asked MSI about sorting the software and drivers issue, so hopefully after seeing the results of our own 'beta testing' here, they might pull their fingers out and sort an official release.keep up the good work guys!!
It is my big dream to sort this all out. Finally it is possible to reoder channels You just have to edit the TVScan.ini in the WinDVR3 directory.Improvements in this version of windvr:1. Sound is better - it is somewhat louder and clearer.2. Improved picture quality - in the previous version it was a little blurry.3. Freescan is faster4.
GUI is better than the old one - it has channel list accessible from the panel5. Recording consumes less cpu, at least on my systemRemarks and suggestions:1.
The minimum size of the tv window is too big compared to the previous version2. May be it is possible to add channel list option to the main tv window context menu3. Add channel surfing option to the main tv window context menu4.
The setting for saturation resets to the default value from time to time5. Adding more skins will be great6.
Video desktop is greyed out. As for the LED staying on, its not a big thing because they are build to last. However, the fact that the LED is staying ON is probably a sign that the inside circuits are still beeing powered and that's not very good. Ence my point #8 in my other post. The positive side:1- Remote is working very well.2- Image is indeed sharper as people stated (especialy in Svideo).3- The 'always on top' option is very nice!4- Faster access to cable-composite-Svideo switching button is nice (even easier access would be even nicer). The work in progess side1- The Channel is changing every time a recording start or stop. Yes its recording the wrong show! I need to manually change it back:(2- The GUI, it have more options (good thing) but it's so brownish ugly.3- TV anywere, could be some setting on my side, but would be nice to have that working.4- I find the display size choice ok since im on high rez. But the wallpaper option would be nice.5- Change the useless MTS button on remote to: cable / Svideo / composite selection button.6- Have some noise filtering options (audio: Low & mid pass filter / video: noise filter) could be another software. Thanks for asking feedback.Keep up the good work!
Well i downloaded msiradio and here are my findings:pro's- the bug with entering the settings and the none of the buttons still working is fixed (changing settings are now instant also)!- it 'seems' to detect more stations and most of the previous stations sound much clearer, some sound worse but a overall big improvement here, it shows also full green bars for the antenna now on some of my stations while it never used to in the previous version.con's- still only 6 saved stations which is way to less. Can't there be an option to have unlimited stations with a previous / next station button and only 6 (or preferably more) stations with a quick access button.- volume slider position still doesn't get saved, whenever msiradio (re)start's it's set at half the volume. Should be saved somewhere what the position was.i didn't try msipvs cause christv probably handless it all much better. Sorry to dbl post however I think this might be of importance to the people who view this page:There is a version of the msi3 that appears to be newer then the one at the top of this post. This Version: msi pvs3.0 beta2 2005225.zipStus Version: MSIPVS Test 3.0 Build 079.540I imagine this version (on the ftp) is newer. Also the drivers appear to be newer as well.(3/2/2005)Thanks to shady1 who was in contact with msi, and actually stopped hereand dropped off the msi ftp user and pass to access these filesTHANKS THANKS!!-f.
