Hi there, not sure if anyone can help,I had VG2 working fine in the past and recently re-installed it, it works fine in standalone mode allowing me to toggle between my interface and internal sound card, when i boot Logic 8, 1st there is no Re-wire in the midi window, there is no instrument on the I-O inst channel strip, Logic simply won't see VG2. I have tried all the updates and each one gives me an error halfway thru the update install saying 'The Installer could not Install some files in '/' Contact the software manufacturer for assistance. I also am aware Steinberg have stopped support over a year ago!! Any help would be greatly appreciated many thanks all. Did you look in the Audio Units Manager at VG 2? VG 2 Fx will always fail validation, but VG 2 should work and should be checked. Are you having any problems with the Syncrosoft license?
Did you update to the latest version version?I ran into this awhile back but don't remember exactly how I resolved it. I think I removed everything VG 2 (except VG 2 content) and reinstalled from the dvd, then installed the last UB update on top of that. Also, make sure 'Set VG 2 Content Location' is up to date with the correct path.Lastly, if VG 2 is extremely important and nothing else works. There are several on the net. Recently I've upgraded my computer from G5 to MacPro and had to install everything from scratch.
Previously I had only problems with not validating VG2 FX plugin. Now I installed everything with almost no problem.
From the ftp catalog:choose the one which HASN'T 'update' in its name. After opening the dmg file there should be a folder called 'Build 425'. This one is the proper one. When installing uncheck the rewire file in the installer options and everything should install and validate in Logic (both 8 and 9)! If you uncheck the rewire option it should still work, I belive but I don't use rewire at all so I'm not sure about it. But the AU versions for both VG2 and VG2 FX work as expected. When you installed the updates, did they install without problems, or did you get any errors as you mentioned before?2.
What audio interface do you have? Have you recently updated those drivers?3. Have you tried to pull up VG2 in other audio software?

Do you want to use the VG2 using rewire or just an AU instrument?If the first I can't help you as I simply don't use rewire at all. If the second: during the installtion process untick the rewire option (I don't remember if you have to choose 'customize install' or it is just a normal step).
This will allow the installation process to end succesfuly and you will see both the VG2 and VG2 FX in Logic (which will validate them with no problem then).Message was edited by: samplaire.
