Pervasive 9 Serial Number
There is no documentation on how to do this. The PSQLV8 license is printed on the original license document, on the registration card, and on the CDROM label provided with PSQLV8. You are looking for the 24-character key string. Depending on which company you purchased them from, your original vendor may have this for you. If the license key was registered with Pervasive, then you may also be able to contact them at 800-BTRIEVE to acquire the license key. However, many people do not register their software, so if this is the case, they won't be able to help. The problem that I am having is that I have a list of pervasive license numbers that don't have associations to servers.
It is suspected that some of these licenses are not in use anymore. However, I don't know which licenses are free for me to use while I am staging the new servers. When staging the replacement server, I need to be able to take a license number that is not currently in use. I'm assuming if I use a license that is currently being used, there will be a licensing conflict on the network. The license data stored in that registry key is encrypted.
Serial Number Idm
There is no way to ascertain the exact source license key from this data (well, Perhaps Pervasive has a way to do it, but its never been documented nor published). The only way to really verify which license is which is to know which license key is stored on which server. If you install PSQLV8 with.no. license key, then you will get a 20-User, 30-day trial. If your staging takes less than 30 days, then you won't have to worry about license requirements on the new servers.
